Does this sound familiar? Why is smoke billowing from my ears? Because we need to change the autism paradigm. Why doesn’t mainstream medicine realize that AUTISM IS TREATABLE? And why aren’t we screaming from the rooftops that we need answers and more treatments to help our children?
The latest CDC survey reports 1 in 45 have autism. Could that be true? What are we waiting for? Does the number have to be 1 in 2 before anybody reacts? I think all parents need to get mad as hell and demand answers.
Physicians who know how to treat autism medically understand that once the body works, the brain follows. We have to stop looking at this backwards. Autism is not the cause of the many medical conditions our children suffer from. In reality, it is the other way around. Our children have immune systems that don’t function properly. If a child’s immune system can be treated, their autism symptoms will diminish. Then our children can learn what they couldn’t before.
When doctors believe the medical issues associated with autism are just part of a “developmental disorder”, children are not treated for the same medical conditions as our typical kids. Is that really okay? When is mainstream medicine going to catch up to what enlightened parents already know? That this is medical, and recovery becomes a possibility for children whose immune conditions can be treated.
When Ryan was first diagnosed I was told an institution was in my son’s future and there was no hope, no cure and no recovery. If I had listened, today he would not be an aerospace engineer doing all the things “the experts” said could never happen. The really sad part is some parents believe these doctors who haven’t kept up! How many parents are still told there is no hope for their children’s futures. And how many kids will not get better as a result?”
Each of our children suffer from different medical issues. Autism is complicated and caused by several medical conditions combined. If parents realized their children can get better, they might not give up (like I almost did) before they found the answers to help them. If the world knew many of our kids can get better, there would be more research to treat the different causes and subsets of autism.
And there is one more thing I need to get off my chest…parents, behaviorists, educators, and medical professionals must all work as a team to help kids get better. Autism is not an easy fix. Each of us has a piece of the puzzle. It takes all of us working together to make recovery happen. The medical treatment just makes learning possible. We still need the educators and behaviorists to catch our kids up on all they missed. Is it just egos, or do people really not understand this?
We must join together and not stop until everyone hears our message. All of our autism groups must stop fighting among ourselves about vaccines and the causes of autism. There are multiple factors that make our children’s immune systems not function properly. We must unite under one message we can all agree on AUTISM IS TREATABLE!!! Then we would be one strong voice that no one could ignore. That is the only way we will win our war against autism!
